:: Share the Love Fridays #5 ::

Well hello there lovely readers!

I'm so excited that it's Friday. I don't know about you, but this week has been really tough for me. Between uni and work and real life, I'm afraid poor the little blog here has been neglected. But never mind - it's Friday, and time for some inspiration to make for a seriously exciting weekend.

I thought that maybe Share the Love Friday's needed a bit of a shake up. I think it's important to share the love, but maybe to make a bigger deal about just one person at a time. That way there is more love to give, and more attention on their work. Not so much confusion.

So for today's Share the Love I'd like to show you my one of my most very favourite illustrators. I have her cute little otter painting hung on my wall, which I absolutely adore! Dawn Tan is one SUPER talented lass, whose name seems to be popping up everywhere I look. She pretty much famous these days. I follow her blog, which she's very good at updating, and I highly recommend following her if you don't already.

Most exciting of all, she has been working so hard over the last few weeks to open up her first pop up shop, which opens TONIGHT! If you are in Melbourne, you HAVE to go and visit her

Dawn even runs Adult Watercolour Classes (which I wish with all my might I could go to, but I have uni on Thursday nights) which would be so great to attend.

Oh so talented Dawn, you inspire me to do amazing things with my craft. Your persistence with your art is truly inspirational. Keep going and never give up!!!

:: Share the Love Fridays #2 ::

Of course there was no CHANCE I was going to forget the Share the Love Fridays post. You should read the first one here to get an idea of what I'm trying to do.


And I'm VERY excited about this weeks lines up. I've been trawling the net all week, following link after link to try and find this weeks most inspiring and I have found three more amazing artists.

I don't know what it is about triangles and geometrics that gets me excited, but Eva from nomilktoday seems to know because her work is so colourful and beautifully hand-crafted but above all inspiring to me. Eva, please know your work is stunning and is pushing me to learn new methods and media. Eva has an Etsy shop and a Facebook page and you should really visit them.

How cute is this self portrait? I found Lily X via Tabitha Emma's blog and through just a few simple clicks, I found myself immersed in Lily X's stunning illustrations. I'm in LOVE with her use of colour and you can be too... Visit her Flickr, Blog and Etsy shop for oh so much more of this talented lass. Lily X, you are extremely talented and I think you should just keep on going and inspiring people just like me.

I first found Lisa Manuels on Etsy, when she just so happened to pop up in my feed and I immediately fell for her gorgeous work. You can visit her here and here and I highly suggest a purchase from her shop or at least a sneaky peek here. Just look at her gorgeous work - Lisa please know that you illustrations are inspirational and thankyou for sharing your wonderful talent with the world.

It's all I've been dreaming of lately.
Josh and I have plans to move there... maybe in 2012, 2013 at the latest. For fun, for life experience, for something outrageous... maybe to join the rat race, or to build our careers! Who knows... Ahhh New York, New York where dreams are made of... right?
Well I'm hoping that this lady can maybe make my dreams come true...

Australian born (Perth WA), New York based art director, illustrator, typographer and designer Deanne Cheuk is my new designer crush. She got her start at 19 as a magazine art director... before she even graduated from uni. Her illustrative type is beautiful, her obvious obsession with layout is pristine, and she even does patterns for Urban Outfitters and more. In fact she somehow finds time to design and sell tshirts. She won awards, has big name clients, and seems to be a force to be reckoned with. Please do check her website out.

Is what I am, drooling over this lovely ladys work! This is my kind of graphic design and I am learning that if I am to do this kind of work, maybe I should just start freelancing!
