Share the Love Fridays #6

So I'm on Twitter, and I love it! It connects people in such an amazing way - you can make new friends, catch up with old ones that you never see and maybe even find out what your dream workplace is up to. To be honest though, I have no idea how anyone finds ME in the giant big world of Twitter, but I was so so glad that Studio Sweet Studio found me, because then I found them, and LOVED what I found.
Yep, this Friday it's all about blog crushing!

Studio Sweet Studio is a blog website and apparently yearly publication (that I would love to get my mits on) which features all sorts of creative people, their work and most exciting to me... their WORKSPACE!
It was created by Meg and Tuesday, both whom are wonderfully talented in their own rights.
In fact, check out their work below.

Amazing Tuesday the illustrator

Nice work from Meg

I love friends who start blogs and create magic together! Thanks Meg and Tuesday for giving me a chance to sticky-beak into creative types' spaces and also for being so darned talented too!

:: Share the Love Fridays #5 ::

Well hello there lovely readers!
I'm so excited that it's Friday. I don't know about you, but this week has been really tough for me. Between uni and work and real life, I'm afraid poor the little blog here has been neglected. But never mind - it's Friday, and time for some inspiration to make for a seriously exciting weekend.

I thought that maybe Share the Love Friday's needed a bit of a shake up. I think it's important to share the love, but maybe to make a bigger deal about just one person at a time. That way there is more love to give, and more attention on their work. Not so much confusion.

So for today's Share the Love I'd like to show you my one of my most very favourite illustrators. I have her cute little otter painting hung on my wall, which I absolutely adore! Dawn Tan is one SUPER talented lass, whose name seems to be popping up everywhere I look. She pretty much famous these days. I follow her blog, which she's very good at updating, and I highly recommend following her if you don't already.

Most exciting of all, she has been working so hard over the last few weeks to open up her first pop up shop, which opens TONIGHT! If you are in Melbourne, you HAVE to go and visit her
at Harvest Textiles. Click here for all the info. I'm going with Jacinta from allaboutpomegranate
and I can't wait.
Dawn even runs Adult Watercolour Classes (which I wish with all my might I could go to, but I have uni on Thursday nights) which would be so great to attend.

Oh so talented Dawn, you inspire me to do amazing things with my craft. Your persistence with your art is truly inspirational. Keep going and never give up!!!

::Share the Love Fridays #4::

To celebrate a whole month of Share the Love Fridays, I decided to pull out the big ones. Todays finds are about some very talented folk who really are a huge inspiration to me. If I'm ever lacking motivation, I can just look at what these ladies are up to and feel completely re-inspired. All three ladies' work oozes talent and skill and each of them make the world a better place with their work in their own way.

Oh and don't forget why I'm doing this section on my blog. Share the Love Fridays is about recognising my sources of inspiration, and sharing their amazing talents on my corner of the world. Forget the competition, this is about sharing the love. You can read more here.

Kirbee Lawler is my one-stop-shop for skillful illustrative work. I could simply get lost in her sketches and drawings for hours, especially those characters with over-sized eyes... they are
so darn cute! Kirbee, you are so talented and you inspire me whenever I've hit a wall!
She has a websiteblog, flickr and Etsy shop that you should definitely visit.

Sweet Bestiary is my sculptural idol. She claims to be a maker of sweet beasts but all I know is that Flor makes stunning characters from all sorts of recycled bits and pieces, clay, and paints them. She does all sorts of different things from finger puppets to brooches. I am so glad she chose to share her talents - Flor your characters are gorgeous and so mystical and I adore them.
She has a website, Etsy Shop and she's on Facebook so you should like her for sure.

Cat Rabbit is by far, my very favourite artist. I get so excited when I see her work popping up in unexpected places. I love her work so much that even my husband knows about it... for my birthday last year, he bought me two of her original illustrations - matching ones of course (such
a sweet thing he is). They are probably my two most prized possessions and have not left my ever changing wall. I can't even begin to describe how much I adore the characters she creates. I'm saving my pennies for an owl. Cat Rabbit you are truly talented and super duper skilled.

If you are in Melbourne this weekend, you should pop by her stall at Finders Keepers and say hello! Website/blog and Facebook for sure!!!!

Happy One Month Share the Love Fridays. Here's to encouraging amazing artists.

Share the Love Fridays #3

So here is Monday, but where was Friday Finds you might ask - where is Friday Finds for the last two weeks?

I have to say that life has just taken over me recently and as I've headed back to uni, the vast amounts of work have just over-run me and for my lack of posting I do apologise – but I shan’t complain, just simply provide. I have a great fashion post all lined up for the coming week as well as some news about what's up with So Little Time. This is Friday Finds #3, so don’t forget to read all about what I’m doing with Friday Finds and why I’m doing it over here on post #1.

This weeks Friday Finds is all about new friends. I met these three amazing people at Craft Hatchs'. Whether they were passing by or holding a stall, I thought it was about time to showcase some local inspiring talent!

Madeleine Sargent is a very creative and clever cookie and the mother of two cute little kids, and she is super nice! But best of all, she makes the most beautiful mobiles I have ever seen. I met her at the last Craft Hatch, after standing there for a while just staring at her beautiful work. I was captivated by every little detail and all the love she puts into her work. Oh and she makes a few other cute things too, like blankies and buntings too. She is super-creative and wonderful nice and you should definitely check out her websiteblog and her Etsy shop too. Thanks Madeleine for making the world a better place with your beautiful handiwork.

------

I met Penny when she dropped by our stall last weekend. It was one of those moment when you knew the design, but you didn't know the face to the work. Boy was I glad to meet her. It's so nice to meet people who love what they do so much - which was very evident with Penny! Pocket Carnival is her brand, and Penny draws the cutest little characters, and then better still, she puts them onto fabric and stitches them into wonderfully cute little things. You should go to her website, read her blog and maybe pay a visit to her Etsy store while you are there. Who knows what you will find. Thanks Penny for being super creative and a big inspiration to me.

-----

Hand Drawn House is a Melbourne based textile studio run by Alice Jean McKellar, and boy can she draw - her work is beautiful and extremely detailed. I met Alice a few Craft Hatches ago, and she was so nice, and had the sweetest stories to tell about her studio and her work - if you ever meet her, you should ask all about her studio and where it is hidden. Be sure to visit her website in the mean time. Alice you are super creative and if I could draw like you, I'd conquer the world.

:: Share the Love Fridays #2 ::

Of course there was no CHANCE I was going to forget the Share the Love Fridays post. You should read the first one here to get an idea of what I'm trying to do.

And I'm VERY excited about this weeks lines up. I've been trawling the net all week, following link after link to try and find this weeks most inspiring and I have found three more amazing artists.

I don't know what it is about triangles and geometrics that gets me excited, but Eva from nomilktoday seems to know because her work is so colourful and beautifully hand-crafted but above all inspiring to me. Eva, please know your work is stunning and is pushing me to learn new methods and media. Eva has an Etsy shop and a Facebook page and you should really visit them.

How cute is this self portrait? I found Lily X via Tabitha Emma's blog and through just a few simple clicks, I found myself immersed in Lily X's stunning illustrations. I'm in LOVE with her use of colour and you can be too... Visit her Flickr, Blog and Etsy shop for oh so much more of this talented lass. Lily X, you are extremely talented and I think you should just keep on going and inspiring people just like me.

I first found Lisa Manuels on Etsy, when she just so happened to pop up in my feed and I immediately fell for her gorgeous work. You can visit her here and here and I highly suggest a purchase from her shop or at least a sneaky peek here. Just look at her gorgeous work - Lisa please know that you illustrations are inspirational and thankyou for sharing your wonderful talent with the world.

:: Share the Love Fridays ::

Share the Love Fridays is a new concept that I'd like to start here on my little corner of the world. It's a new little section that basically shares some love from my weeks findings. But I want to make it a little different to most Friday shares. See, here is my thinking...

I get that the industry is a tough one (whatever industry you may be in), and it's apparently all about getting ahead and making yourself look better than the person next to you. I get the importance of promoting yourself before others, but I think it would be great if everyone could share some competition love every now and then. Yep, today and every Friday, I want give a little love to someone else who is doing very similar things to me - maybe they inspired me, or have my dream job/ skills/work life or are doing very similar things to So Little Time Co. and need a little encouragement and a remind that I think they are fab and doing a great job, and that they should definitely NOT give up.

I am going to start and continue it every Friday, but if you - dear reader - would like to send me some images of work from people who are doing a great job, who inspire you or who you are simply in complete envy of (in a good way), please send me their info or images to me at hello@solittletimeco.com. (Make sure you send me a link so I can give them due credit too). You can leave your name and a link back to your blog too, or be anonymous if you please.

So today I have 3 people to share with you...

Amy Walters. She makes super cute jewellery from her beautiful illustrations among many other things. You should check out her photo-licious blog, her envy-worthy website and her cute-as-a-button items on her etsy store.

Jacinta Sobey is a wonderful friend of mine, who inspires me and never fails to make me smile. She has some amazing sewing and screen-printing skills, and always has a new idea up her sleeve. Her latest print is definitely my favourite, but I'm in love with her beautiful balloon print too. She'll be launching her new textiles line soon so be sure to check her blog for news on that. I do believe she has an Etsy store though, check that out!

I discovered Mafa of Pink Rain through Etsy (how great is Etsy by the way?) and was INSTANTLY amazed and inspired by her gorgeous work. I think her work speaks for itself, but you should check out her cute shop and sweet blog.

If you'd like to share a bit of love in this space, you should send me an email, or even do it on your own blog too - I'd love to see it everyone sharing the love. Until next time...
